Job Description

GGA is a boutique accounting firm based in San Francisco. The firm specializes in two areas (1) high net worth and ultra-high net worth families along with their closely held businesses, and (2) fund administration and fund accounting for investment funds.  The firm has a large client base of entrepreneurs, start-up companies, hedge funds, and venture capital funds.

GGA has a small start-up culture with entrepreneurial spirit. It is also a family friendly place to work. With the globalization of businesses and high net worth families moving in and out of USA, the firm also has expertise and significant experience in cross-border tax planning and compliance.

The position is for Senior Tax Consultant level to assist with firm’s clients with domestic as well as international tax advisory and compliance.  The candidate will review tax returns, assist with advisory and tax research, staff mentoring/management, and client communication.

Duties of a senior associate include:

  • Preparation and review of tax returns for high net worth individuals, partnerships, C-corp, S-corp, trust, gift, and estate

  • Analysis of quarterly estimated tax payments

  • Year-end planning and consulting for income, gift, and estate taxes. 

  • Some examples include: pre-liquidity/IPO planning, foreign inheritance and gifting, qualified small business stock strategies.

  • Assist managers and partners with client management, including billing, correspondences with clients, etc.

  • Manage and mentor associates

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in public accounting

  • Solid knowledge of 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S.

  • International form such as 1040NR, 5471, 1120F is not required and can be learned on the job

  • CPA preferred but not required

  • Ability to multi-task and be agile

  • Team player

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to build relationships internally and externally
